Pellet Mill Roller

Description

A roller is a vital component of a pellet mill machine used in the process of transforming raw materials into pellets. Pellet mills are commonly used in industries such as animal feed production, biomass pelletization, and more, to create compact and consistent pellets from a variety of materials.

The roller plays a key role in compressing and shaping the raw material into pellets. It's a cylindrical component that rotates around its axis within the pellet mill die—the die is a perforated plate with holes through which the material is forced under pressure to form pellets of specific sizes.

Pellet mill rollers are subject to wear and tear due to the constant friction and pressure they endure during operation. Therefore, they may need to be replaced periodically to maintain the efficiency and quality of pellet production.

Material: 20MnCr5, GCr15 Customed

Hardness: 56-62

Type: Dimple, Corrugated, Oblique Dimple;

Dimple Roller
Corrugated: end-closed, end-open Roller
Oblique Dimple Roller

The use process of roller in pellet mill:

Raw Material Feeding: The raw material, which can be wood chips, sawdust, agricultural residues, or feed ingredients, is fed into the pellet mill's chamber.

Compression and Extrusion: As the pellet mill roller rotates, it presses the raw material against the inner surface of the die. The pressure and friction generated by the roller's movement heat up the material, causing lignin (a natural binding agent) to soften and bind the particles together.

Pellet Formation: The material is forced through the holes in the die due to the rotating action of the roller. This results in the material being compressed and extruded through the die holes, forming cylindrical pellets as it exits the die.

Cutting or Breaking: Depending on the design of the pellet mill, the formed pellets are either cut into specific lengths by a set of knives or broken into desired lengths by rollers or other mechanisms.

We produce in-house any size and type of drum made of high quality materials, suitable for all pellet mill on the market.
