A pellet die is a component of the pellet mill, mainly used to make cylindrical pellets from ground raw materials. The roller shell presses the raw material into pellets under strong pressure. The holes and working length of the pellet mold determine the pellet size.

In the pelleting chamber, the feed is evenly distributed on the working pad of the pelleting die. Under the cross force of the pelleting die and the rollers, the raw material is pressed through the die holes to form pellets, which are cut off (by means of a cutter) as they are extruded from the pelleting die.
